The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by four nations: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa. As the administrative body of the region, CAF manages competitions, offers technical and administrative training courses while actively fostering the promotion and practice of football. The Confederation organizes championships such as the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most popular competition. It maintains very close links with FIFA in coordinating tournaments for different events such as the World Cup, Youth and Women competitions and the Olympic Games Football Tournaments.
We are currently looking for the position below to join our team:
Job Title: National Teams Competitions Coordinator
Location: Africa
Duties
National Teams Competitions Coordinator who can contribute to CAF’s overall success by effectively handling the following duties:
- Invite all National Associations to engage in the competition;
- Registration and follow up with the engaged teams;
- Establishing the format and the calendar of the competition;
- Establishing the fixtures of each stage;
- Coordinate all events of the matches (officials designations, officials replacement, crisis management when required);
- Ensure all match related forms are received;
- Regularly update the results and the calendar of the competition and synchronize it with the communication department;
- Cooperation with marketing, legal and other departments/divisions;
- Communication with the Standing Committees;
- Following the matches in the Match Command Center (MCC);
- Preparation of all the documents of the Final Tournaments (draw, letters, host, teams, members…etc.);
- Preparation of the files for organizing committee members during the final tournaments;
- Ordering the needed material for the Final tournament (flags, medals, stationary, trophies, documents…etc.) and following up with Logistics;
- Work on the incidents report of the competitions;
- Statistics and Communiqués of the Final tournaments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum three years of work experience in national teams competitions 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English and French
- Administrational and organizational skills
- Communication and intercultural skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Passion and high knowledge of football
- Excellent level of online research skills
