In some parts of Abuja, the nation’s capital, petrol queues surfaced on Monday and intensified on Tuesday.
In a swift reaction to this development, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC tweeted that there was no need for panic-buying as the corporation had enough product that would last the country for about 60 days.
The panic buying is not unconnected with the report in some media that the vandalism of petrol trucks by angry protesters had forced oil marketers to temporarily suspend the movement of petroleum products.

Reacting to the queues that surfaced in Abuja and neighbouring states on Tuesday morning, the NNPC said in a tweet that there is no need for panic-buying, assuring members of the public that it has over two billion litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in stock to guarantee steady supply to last at least 60 days.
