How to Obtain Small scale Artisanal Mining Licence Operator in Nigeria

Artisanal mining involves informal mining operations on a small scale that are typically conducted by individuals or small groups using basic tools and techniques. In Nigeria, artisanal mining is particularly common in the extraction of minerals such as gold, tin, columbite, and limestone.

The Nigerian government have been working to regulate and formalize the artisanal mining sector to address several issues relating to safety standards and enhance the economic benefits for local communities. Follow the listed steps below to register as a Artisanal Mining Licence operator.

Visit https://www.miningcadastre.gov.ng/apply-now and click on register to commence the registration process

Access Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM) to commence application process

Click on the “View More” link on the “Artisanal & Small Scale Mining” tab to view the possible application

Step 2: The system displays the List of ASM Applications, scroll down to the Small Scale Mining Operator Registration and click Apply Now button under it as shown in Figure

Step 3: The system displays the Guidelines page, review it, and click the “Next” to proceed with the application as shown in Figure 3 below;

Step 4: The system displays the Member page, select an existing member by clicking on the “Use Existing User”, otherwise add a new member by filling the details of new member as shown in Figure 4 below

Step 5: The system added the member successfully, click “Save & Continue” button to proceed with the application as shown in Figure

Step 6: The system displays the Mining Site Page, fill in the Mining address details and click the submit button as shown in Figure 6 below;

Step 7: The system saved the Mining Site details successfully, click on the “Save & Continue” button to continue with the application as shown in Figure 7 below;

Step 8: The system displays the Minerals Page, select the relevant minerals and scroll down to the bottom of the page to click on the “Submit” button as shown in Figure 8 below

Step 9: The system added the selected minerals successfully, click the “Save & Continue” button to proceed with the application as shown in Figure 9 below

Step 10: The system displays the Documents upload page, some required documents have been uploaded already Upload the remaining required documents and click “Upload” button to upload as shown in Figure 10 below;
