Containers trucks not registered under the new electronic truck-call up app (Eto app), would no longer be granted access to the ports from February 27, 2020, the Nigerian Port Authority has declared.
Speaking on the introduction of the app, the Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman, said that any truck found parking on any part of the ports access roads would be impounded, adding that all trucks are expected to be parked at designated truck parks from where they would be called into the ports when their cargo is ready for pick.

According to her, the NPA, in conjunction with the Lagos State Government, has licensed seven parks, where trucks could be stationed and invited into the ports when their cargoes are ready for pick up. Apart from calling up trucks for pickup, the ‘Eto’ app would also be responsible for the return of empty containers to the ports by shipping companies.
All transporters, truck owners, and truck drivers will be required to download the Eto App from the Google play store or sign up at https://eto.ttp.com.ng before the commencement date to enable them to register accordingly.
